How to Setup online forms: Tilda Publishing block settings

Online forms are one of the most vital tools for collecting leads, contacts, and feedback. Tilda makes this process incredibly simple and intuitive, providing flexible settings to create any kind of form—from a basic contact form to a multi-step quiz.
Let's walk through how to set up forms in Tilda.

Step 1: Add a Form Block

Before you can configure a form, you need to add it to your page.
  1. Open the Block Library: Hover your cursor over the space between blocks and click the "+".
  2. Select a Category: Find the "Form and Button" category. You can also find forms in the "Cover," "Contacts," and "Footer" categories.
  3. Choose a Suitable Block: Tilda offers dozens of pre-designed form blocks. You can choose a simple form with a name and email, a form with multiple fields, or even a form on a cover page.
Once you've selected a block, it will appear on your page.

Step 2: Customize the Form's Content

This is the most crucial step where you define which fields will be in your form and what the user will see.
  1. Open "Content": Hover over the block and click the "Content" button in the top-left corner (the orange button).
  2. Work with the Fields:
  • Add Fields: Click "Add input field."
  • Choose Field Type: Select the type of field you need:
  • Text input: for names, surnames.
  • Email: for an email address.
  • Phone: for a phone number (you can add a mask to prevent errors).
  • Dropdown: for a dropdown list.
  • Checkbox: for agreeing to the privacy policy.
  • Radio buttons: for a single choice from multiple options.
  • Textarea: for multi-line text.
  • Field Settings: For each field, you can set:
  • Title: the field's title that will be visible to the user.
  • Hint: placeholder text that appears inside the field.
  • Required: mark the field as mandatory.
  • Error message: the message that appears if the user doesn't fill out the field correctly.
  • Default value: pre-filled text in the field.
  1. Button and Title: You can also edit the button's text (Button text) and the form's main title (Form title) in this section.

Step 3: Connect the Form to a Data-Receiving Service

This is how you get the information submitted by users. Tilda allows you to connect to various services, including email, Telegram, Google Sheets, and CRM systems.
  1. Open "Settings": Click the "Settings" button at the top-right of the block.
  2. Select "Form": In the menu on the left, find the "Form" section.
  3. Add a Service: Click "Add service" and choose where the data will be sent.
  • Email: Simply enter the email address where you want to receive submissions.
  • Google Sheets: Connect to your Google account and select a sheet where the data will be saved.
  • Telegram: Follow the instructions to create a bot and get the chat ID.
  • Trello, Slack, CRM Systems: Tilda supports various integrations for seamless data transfer.
  • More than one service: You can connect multiple services to a single form.
  1. Important: After connecting a service, don't forget to publish your page to apply the changes.

Additional Pro-Tips

  • Create a Pop-up Form: If you want a form to appear in a pop-up window, add a "Pop-up" block from the library and then place a form block inside it.
  • Customize Your "Success" Message: In the "Content" settings, you can edit the text that appears to the user after they successfully submit the form.
  • Add a "Redirect": In the "Settings" menu under "Form," you can enable a redirect to another page after form submission. This is great for a "Thank You" page.
  • Zero Block Integration: You can add form elements to a Zero Block to create a completely custom design that perfectly matches your branding.
By following these steps, you can create and configure powerful online forms in Tilda that will help you effectively communicate with your audience and achieve your business goals.
